Scott Guyton - Owner/Operator |
Scott is a double Olympian (Sydney 2000, Atlanta 1996) and Commonwealth Games Representative (Kuala Lumpur 1998). Represented NZ just having turned 19 in Atlanta. Raced in European Pro Teams from 1997 to 2004. Won NZ's most prestigious tour - Tour of Southland twice 1998 and 2003 and placed in the top three on other occasions. Scott has coached Westlake Boys High School cycling team, and Takapuna Grammar cycling team. |
Vanessa Guyton - Owner/Operator |
Represented NZ at World Championship level as a junior and senior. Won numerous national titles as a junior (U19) rider. Represented NZ at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Is a qualified Sport Scientist and a Nutritionist having completed a BSc with a double major in Sports and Exercise Science as well as Human Nutrition in 2005. Raced on one of the worlds top woman's cycling teams for five years. |
Lance Maitland - Sales |
Lance has been at the shop for too long, he is a very friendly guy and likes to help out where possible, for example taking you for a training ride. Lance has been riding his bike for many years and has a lot of knowledge to give to beginning cyclists. Lance is also involved with web orders. |
Dan Furminger - Sales/Bike Fit | Having dipped his toes in road racing, mountain biking and triathlon, Dan brings a wealth of multidiscipline experience to our team. Outside the workplace, he enjoys building and refurbishing bicycles from years past in addition to providing coaching and technical support for his wife. Employment at Kiwivelo affords Dan the resources needed to support her professional triathlon career. |
Isaac Schuurman - Manager |
Isaac is a competitive mountain biker with an enviable skillset when the trail gets technical. This ability crosses over to our workshop, where he manages the day to day operations and ensures all services are completed to the highest standard. |
Jiri Pilik - Workshop |
Originally from the Czech Republic, Jiri reached the highest league of competition in ice hockey and used cycling as a form of cross training. Amateur races played a large part in preparation for the hockey season and soon became an important part of his life. Jiri first came to the bicycle industry in 2006 and has occupied a variety of positions in the retail space. Nowadays, Jiri is particularly focused on premium bike service and custom shop builds at the Kiwivelo Workshop. If You need any advice, help or consultation about your bicycle, he is the man to ask for. |
Darren House - Workshop |
A Waikato native, Darren has over 10 years perfecting his trade. Since joining us in 2022, Darren has spent the bulk of his time in the workshop building, fixing and maintaining all bikes that pass through Kiwivelo's doors. You'll be able to spot Darren on his grey Dogma on Wednesday Bunch rides...probably towing Lance. |
Jack Gerken - Sales |
Born and raised on Auckland's North Shore, Jack has ridden countless laps of Lake Pupuke over the years - this has naturally progressed to a love of track cycling, and cutting laps of the Velodrome instead. If you have any interest in getting into track racing or fancy an upgrade to your track bicycle, Jack is the man to see. |

After numerous years of supporting her kids and husband at bike races, Vicki finally decided to give it a go herself. Now she is a keen cycling fan riding her own events! |
